Popular Nigerian broadcaster, Dan Foster reportedly dies of Covid-19

Daniel ‘Dan’ Foster, who is popularly known as The Big Dawg was formerly a judge on the 2007 “Idols West Africa” and a judge on “Nigeria’s Got Talent” alongside Kate Henshaw and Yibo Koko.
Foster worked with numerous radio stations including Cathy Hughes Radio One, Mix 106.5 both in America, and Virgin Island-based WTBN, before moving to Nigeria in 2000 where he joined Cool FM, quickly becoming popular with Nigerian listeners.

I just got off the phone, my friend Oscar confirmed that Dan Foster has passed on. This is a very very dark year. How can I overcome this unending melancholy. Rest in Peace, dear Friend.

Dan Foster’s voice was a huge part of my growing up. His voice on Cool FM. His playfulness. His kindness. Long before I saw what he looked like, his voice communicated his personality in a way no picture needed to. This one is one loss too many. This is a really sad day.

If you grew up on Cool FM in the 2000s like I did, you knew the OG Dan Foster. This is such terrible news if true. Sigh
